By KARL FITZGERALD and DAVID GREENEThe Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said he didn’t really understand the concept of the red hot candy after watching a recent Pepsi commercial.
Prescott said after seeing the ad, he thought it was funny.
But then he saw it again on Twitter, and he thought about how he was a “cookie man” for a week.
Prescott’s comment came after he watched a Pepsi commercial for the red hots candy on the red carpet during the Super Bowl.
He tweeted, “If the candy is hot, that means it is a candy.
Thats my way of saying I don’t want to eat candy.
I like to eat it cold.
It makes me feel good.”
The ad was for PepsiCo’s Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
In the commercial, the band members dance around in red chili-colored hot candy.
The band’s frontman, Chris Cornell, says, “I like candy.
It feels good.”
Prescott said, “But the redness of the candy, I don, I, I like it.
But it’s so hot, it hurts.
So it’s like, yeah, but, no, it’s not.
I can’t handle it.
You know, I can handle it.”
He continued, “It’s like a candy man.
You get to a certain point, it gets to a point where you want to just take it.
I mean, it is like a good candy.
But I can live with the red.
I’m just like, I’m like a cookie man.”
He added, “You know, we can eat red.
We can eat white, we don’t have to go too crazy.
But we just have to try not to go crazy.
So I don`t want to get too crazy with it.”
PepsiCo’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
