1/2 cup butter.
1 cup sugar.
2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
1 tablespoon cinnamon.
1 egg yolk.
(If using cookies, whisk the yolk and sugar together before baking.)
1/4 cup cocoa powder.
4 tablespoons melted chocolate chips.
1 1/3 cups heavy cream.
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar.
1 pinch salt.
1 package chocolate chips (about 1/8 cup each).
Instructions Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, cinnamon, and baking powder to the butter and heat until combined.
Reduce heat to medium-low and whisk until mixture resembles melted chocolate.
Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the chocolate chips, melted chocolate, and heavy cream until well combined.
(You can also add some of the powdered sugar if you prefer.)
Stir in the cocoa powder and melted chocolate and continue to whisk until smooth.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before adding to the chocolate candied cookies.
Using a pastry blender, combine the chocolate mixture into the butter mixture and pulse until smooth and creamy.
Add in the cream, powdered sugar, and salt and mix until smooth, just scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.
Pour the mixture into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 45 minutes.
Let the candied candies cool completely on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before cutting into pieces.
To Make the Candied Pecans: Melt butter and sugar in a microwave-proof saucepan.
Add egg yolks and vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
Slowly add in eggs and whisk again to combine and whisk together until well mixed.
Add vanilla, melted butter, and sugar to the egg mixture.
Whisk again until well blended.
Reduce temperature to low.
Whirl in the melted chocolate until smooth (about 3 minutes).
Pour the chocolate over the pecane cookies.
Cut into wedges and enjoy.
To make the Chocolate Chip Cookie: Melt chocolate chips in a small saucepan on medium-high heat.
Stir in melted chocolate (about 2 tablespoons).
Pour over the chocolate and mix well.
Pour chocolate over cookie slices and sprinkle with powdered sugar to sprinkle on top.
Top with chocolate chips and sprinkle powdered sugar over top.
Place a cake plate on the cake plate and bake the candiest cookies for 45-50 minutes or until set and golden brown.
To Serve: Drizzle chocolate over cooled chocolate chips on top of the candying cookies and serve immediately.
